My 2020 Palisade SEL started making a grinding noise in the back driver's side. I took it to a mechanic and they said the front brakes and rotors were fine, but the back left and right brake pads and rotors were worn and needed to be replaced. They also said that the calipers on the back would not compress new brake pads and needed to be replaced. I am taking it to another place for a 2nd opinion. I was wondering if anyone else has had any issues with brake pads, rotors, or calipers on a 2020 Palisade. I have 68k miles on mine and of course the caliper warranty goes away at 60k miles. I bought it new in March of 2020. Thank you!

I've just had exactly the same issue, grinding from rear driver's side, pulled the calliper, pads are completely gone, and my mechanic just called to say the calliper won't retract on the driver's side, and the passenger side is leaking fluid! Local dealers are currently booking 2+ weeks out and the car is undriveable!

Update - got my car towed to a Hyundai dealer, thank you Hyundai Roadside Assistance, they got it up on the ramp and had the brakes replaced in an hour or so. No issues with the callipers whatsoever.

The car has to be plugged into a service computer to retract the pistons, so it might be that independent mechanics simply don't have access to the right hardware to facilitate a simple brake pad change?

Dealer then tried to sell me $900, 60,000 mile service package on a car that's only just hit 50,000 miles.
