Who has actually towed a small travel trailer (less than 3500# ) with a Palisade? Does the load leveler work?

The load leveler does work but only while the vehicle moving.

How many inches from the ground to the bottom of the receiver.? Can you use cruise control while towing? Does the transmission shift up and down when going up a hill?

You can use Cruise control while driving, in fact the HDA set from 55-65 works beautifully while towing, if you get the limited model you can use the side cameras to monitor who is in your trailer blind spot when switching lanes. I set the SCC to four bars max distance to give me extra braking capacity, just be ready to do any kind of hard braking as the palisade doesn't take into account your braking distance while towing.
Tranny does shift while going up a hill, expect an RPM range from 2500 up to 4,000 RPM depending on grade level.

My truck is at 13". I still scrape going in/out the drive way. I have to forgo buying the Palisade because of that and also the dealer wasn't familiar with wiring a 7 pin plug or if it had plug and play for a brake controller. Beautiful vehicle though.

Hey Mike,
thanks for all the good information. What drive selector so you use when towing? Comfort, Sport, etc...?
thanks.

I'd definitely use SPORT. All other modes lug the engine IMO, even without an extra load. So rather give up a little MPG to avoid lugging the engine. I drive in sport all the time, which locks 7th in auto mode, which is exactly what you want when towing. You can upshift to 8th with the paddles, however, which is what I do. Hope this helps.
